I have been so busy since our move and transition from Missouri to Oklahoma! It has been a crazy ride so far, but I am LOVING every minute of it! We’ve had such a great time meeting new people, going to community events, and exploring the downtown area of Tulsa. The downside of moving to a new place, however, has been that I have not had as much time to devote to my photography as I would like. I feel like this is about to change! I hope that you are as excited as I am for future posts on the blog!
Today’s post is ground-breaking for me – It’s my very first time taking part in a project through Art House Co-op, an independent Brooklyn-based company that organizes global, collaborative art projects. By focusing on the intersection of hands-on art making and new technology, Art House nurtures community-supported art projects that harness the power of the virtual world to share inspiration in the real world. I absolutely love this! So I dug down deep and signed up to participate in one of their projects! I must say that I am so excited that I did!
The project I participated in is The Chronicle Project, which challenges artists to document a single day in their lives and share it with the community. Artists could document their day in a chart, or based on sounds they heard, or just simply try to catch the feeling of an overall day. In the end, Art House will combine all 1,000 unique days into one.
It shouldn’t be surprising that I chose photography to document my day! I grabbed my handy Nikon and headed to the beautiful Oklahoma outdoors. I wanted to try to capture the sun and the movement of the past two months since we have been here. The first picture below was the one that I submitted as my entry. The other three are a couple of other pictures that I enjoyed from the day.
I look forward to participating in future projects through Art House. I love what they are doing, and I’m so excited to see what other artists will be contributing to this project!
