This month’s I Heart Faces Social Media Challenge is an alphabet challenge over The Letter C. Out of all of the challenges I have entered so far, I found this to be the most difficult picture to choose. There are so many things in my life that I love and have taken pictures of that start with the letter C. Cookies. Coffee. Clouds. Cupcakes. Cozy. Collections. And these are only the ones off the top of my head.
For the past couple of months I have been gearing up to shoot my first wedding all by myself. I can’t say that I wasn’t nervous. In fact, I was pretty much a basket case as I laid in bed unable to sleep the night before. However, the morning of the wedding I woke up and felt ready to face the day before me. I grabbed my bag, made sure I had everything I could possibly ever need, and left for a day that I will forever remember as the first wedding I photographed as a solo photographer.
I have been so busy since our move and transition from Missouri to Oklahoma! It has been a crazy ride so far, but I am LOVING every minute of it! We’ve had such a great time meeting new people, going to community events, and exploring the downtown area of Tulsa. The downside of moving to a new place, however, has been that I have not had as much time to devote to my photography as I would like. I feel like this is about to change! I hope that you are as excited as I am for future posts on the blog!
Let me begin by saying that I have pretty much fallen in love with Pinterest. One of my favorite parts about the site is the ability to find and try new recipes. However, I run into the same problem every time I find and pin a new recipe–I wish I personally knew the person who made it to ask my questions and get a real, honest opinion on the answers. That is part of the reason why I enjoy blogging about the recipes that I discover and try out. For me, I like to take a recipe and tweak it to my liking and let you in on the secrets and findings that I come up with in the process.
I don’t know about you, but in our household, we always have a hard time coming up with quick and healthy breakfasts in the mornings. Sometimes, all we have time for is the grab and dash, which usually results in granola bars or toaster pastries. So, I’ve been keeping my eye out for some new breakfast recipes! I was thrilled, then, when I came across a recipe for Baked Oatmeal Muffins. I like oatmeal, but don’t normally have the time to sit down and enjoy a bowl in the morning. The other problem is that I normally never finish an entire bowl in one sitting because it’s just too much oatmeal than I can handle at one time. My husband, however, almost always needs to have two packets of oatmeal to feel satisfied. Baking oatmeal into muffins has become the perfect solution.
As most of you know, I have been trying my best to enter into monthly photo challenges through a website called I Heart Faces. I have been loving taking part in these challenges and seeing all of the entries from others as well!
This month’s Social Media Challenge is on “The Letter B.” I have chosen a picture of boats from a recent trip to Alaska. This picture was taken in a little fishing town called Whittier. While we were in Alaska, I absolutely fell in love with this little town and all of the boats that were docked for the day. The haze of the fog set the perfect scene against the beautiful, mountainous backdrop, making this one of my absolute favorite vacation photos of all time.
I am loving, loving, loving the way the pictures turned out from a photo session of friends Madi & Savannah. I have known Madi & Savannah for five years now and have seen them go from sweet junior highers into beautiful and talented young adults. The thing that I love about their personalities and their friendship is so evident in the pictures–Savannah is such a joyful person who loves to laugh, and Madi says and does some of the most hilarious things ever because she loves to make people laugh. Their friendship is perfect! After the photo shoot as I was going through the photos, there were so many where Savannah is cracking up after Madi said or did something completely off-the-wall! I can’t help but smile and laugh every time I look at the pictures!
