I Heart Faces . Best Face of 2012

Best Face 2012

It feels like it has been FOREVER since I have entered an I Heart Faces judged photo challenge! I think with the craziness of the holidays, time has simply slipped from my grasp. The past few months are seriously a blur! Not only so, but the whole year has flown by at lightning speed. I can’t believe 2012 is gone and 2013 has begun!

The year 2012 came with a lot of big life changes – mainly, accepting the position of Student Ministry Pastors for RE:FRESH student ministry and moving ourselves to Oklahoma. It has been a year of craziness, for sure, but as I reflect on 2012 I can’t help but just be overcome with joy and excitement as we are doing what we truly feel God has created us to do.

With the newness and the changes that took place in 2012, my photography has taken a bit of a “back seat” during the ride. It has still been a hobby and a definite passion of mine, but has been hard to really devote a lot of time and energy to. However, there was one face and one moment that really stuck out to me as the best face for 2012.

In October, I had the opportunity to photograph the first few hours of baby Peyton’s life. It was a truly remarkable experience getting to stay alongside of the family as they welcomed their new son, brother, and grandson into the world. I chose this photo as the best face of 2012 not only because Peyton is truly adorable, but also because it marked a new experience in my journey with photography.
