Baked Oatmeal Muffins . Recipe

Let me begin by saying that I have pretty much fallen in love with Pinterest. One of my favorite parts about the site is the ability to find and try new recipes. However, I run into the same problem every time I find and pin a new recipe–I wish I personally knew the person who made it to ask my questions and get a real, honest opinion on the answers. That is part of the reason why I enjoy blogging about the recipes that I discover and try out. For me, I like to take a recipe and tweak it to my liking and let you in on the secrets and findings that I come up with in the process.

I don’t know about you, but in our household, we always have a hard time coming up with quick and healthy breakfasts in the mornings. Sometimes, all we have time for is the grab and dash, which usually results in granola bars or toaster pastries. So, I’ve been keeping my eye out for some new breakfast recipes! I was thrilled, then, when I came across a recipe for Baked Oatmeal Muffins. I like oatmeal, but don’t normally have the time to sit down and enjoy a bowl in the morning. The other problem is that I normally never finish an entire bowl in one sitting because it’s just too much oatmeal than I can handle at one time. My husband, however, almost always needs to have two packets of oatmeal to feel satisfied. Baking oatmeal into muffins has become the perfect solution.

Coffee & Cozy . Giveaway

Would I call myself a coffee addict? Perhaps. It is hard not to enjoy the deliciousness that a nice, caffeine-infused cup of coffee can provide. I also love checking out different coffee shops. The atmosphere. The people. The wonderful smell. The artwork. Ok. Maybe addict is a pretty fitting word…

You can understand my excitement, then, when I saw that a friend of mine from Ohio started crocheting Cozies. What is a Cozy? I’m glad you asked! Let me explain a little more.

Kitchen Experiment . Juicing 101

Yesterday was St. Patrick’s Day, and with all of the focus being on the color green, Jon and I decided that we needed to join the festivities by making something green ourselves! That is why, after a couple weeks of anticipation (and an awesome deal on a juicer from great friends of ours), Jon and I have finally juiced for the first time!

Disclaimer: Let me be the first to say that this is in no way a recipe post. It is, though, what I would call a “kitchen experiment.”

Change (verb): to make the form, nature, content, future course, etc., of (something) different from what it is or from what it would be if left alone.

I must be honest. I am usually not a fan of change. It’s easy to get set in a routine or a way of doing something and get comfortable. It’s hard to break the cycle and set the course of life in a different direction. Change is sometimes painful. It’s sometimes uncomfortable and it’s sometimes against what you’ve always thought or known. But there are so many times in life where change is needed. There are so many things we would miss out on if we were not willing to change. Change can be necessary. Change can be good.

Mustache Glasses . Etching Tutorial

Am I the only one who is currently addicted to all things mustaches? I have to admit, even though they are a little corny, I am absolutely loving that mustaches have become super trendy. Basically, I think they’re fan-stach-tic (ok…that may be a bit overboard). I have loved all of the mustache glasses, coffee mugs, and the like that I have been seeing on etsy and pinterest. The problem is, they are super over-priced for something I know that I can make at home. I have never etched glass before but knew that it was a possibility and would just take a little learning. So, I have studied up and tried etching for  the first time to bring you an awesome tutorial and to tell you that you can do it too! I mustache you a question…how awesome is that?
