A couple of weeks ago I had the wonderful opportunity of taking Senior Pictures with Robin at Claremore Lake. The overcast weather made it the perfect day for pictures at the lake, and the rain held off until we were finished with our session (and also was a perfect excuse to stop for coffee after we were finished!).
In a little less than a month from today, my husband and I will be celebrating our one year anniversary as the Student Ministry Pastors at Claremore Assembly of God. WOW. Time really does fly. It’s crazy to think that a year ago we were praying and seeking God for the direction we would take in our ministry and in our life.
As most of you know, my husband and I moved to Claremore,Oklahoma last March and took the amazing position of Student Ministry Pastors for REFRESH student ministry. The past 8.5 months have been an absolute whirlwind, and as you’ve been able to notice, my photography has taken a bit of a backseat. When we moved to Claremore, I wanted to truly make building relationships with the people here my main focus and priority. I wouldn’t trade the decision to put a halt on photography to get to know people and build relationships because it has been so rewarding and so important to our ministry and lives.
I am so excited for this blog post featuring Courtney Ward and her recent accomplishment of Honor Star Crowning in the Mpact Girls program that the Assemblies of God fellowship offers. It is a huge task for a young woman to complete, and I am so proud of Courtney for all of the hard work I know it must have taken for her to receive this honor.
I haven’t had the opportunity of knowing Courtney very long, but from the time I have spent with her, she is one of the most absolute genuine people I have ever met in my entire life. I am sure that those who know her well will agree that it is difficult to find someone as sweet and caring as Courtney is.
I am loving, loving, loving the way the pictures turned out from a photo session of friends Madi & Savannah. I have known Madi & Savannah for five years now and have seen them go from sweet junior highers into beautiful and talented young adults. The thing that I love about their personalities and their friendship is so evident in the pictures–Savannah is such a joyful person who loves to laugh, and Madi says and does some of the most hilarious things ever because she loves to make people laugh. Their friendship is perfect! After the photo shoot as I was going through the photos, there were so many where Savannah is cracking up after Madi said or did something completely off-the-wall! I can’t help but smile and laugh every time I look at the pictures!

I must admit, I felt a little nostalgic going into this shoot with the girls from Bowie first east. During my time at CBC, I spent two wonderful years living on that hall – two years spending countless hours laughing and staying up late with the other girls on the hall. It was so great to have the opportunity to capture some of the memory-making of the current group of girls who are living there. The weather couldn’t have been better for a photo shoot at Nathanael Greene Park, and these girls made the afternoon lively and fun!
To all the girls from B1E: From the time we started taking pictures until the very last frame, I don’t think I stopped laughing for a second. You are all so full of energy and life! Thank you for allowing me to spend the afternoon taking pictures for your hall event! I hope you all get to share many more moments together making memories of your time at CBC.
